In the years of world war 1, new technologies changed America. Technologies made it possible for millions of people to improve their lives. It also brought new changes in the American society. Some of the most important changes came as a result of the automobile and the radio. Automobiles began to be mass-produced. They were low enough in cost so many Americans could buy them. Gasoline was low in cost to. Automobiles made it easy for Americans to travel. Trucks made it easy for goods to be transported. Many American towns had movie theater. Movies were fun. Movie theaters were an important social force. Many young Americans tried to copy what they saw250px-Queen's_Theatre_1941.jpg in the movies. And they dreamed of faraway places. Rich and poor families saw the same movies. They also had drive ins back in the 1920s. Today they still have them. Movie theaters are commercial operations catering to the general public, who attend by purchasing a ticket. The movie is projected with a movie projector onto a large projection screen at the front of the auditoruim. Movie theaters are a relatively new creation because people goes to movie theaters to see opera, ballet, play, and movie. Movie theaters are originally called movie palaces. The depression and war world 2 drastically changed the way movie theaters were built. They were decorated in art deco style and were simple compared to the palaces of the 1910s and 20s.

The creation of the unique theaters with character is mostly a thing in the past. There are a few large chains of movie theaters and they are the same inside and out. There's five big studios: Warner Bros. Pictures, Famous Players-Lasky, Radio-Keith-Orpheum Pictures, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, and 20th Century Fox and Pictures. There's three little studios: Universal, United Artists, and Columbia Pictures. In 1907, you could watch a film at a Nickelodeon theater for five cents, that's why its called "Nickel"odeon. During the depression or the 1920s, movies cost about 27 cents.
